The US Department of Energy has selected Pioneer Energy for a $10 million grant so as to advance their Emission Control Treater- ECT.
Apparently, this breakthrough well pad technology goes on to eliminate routine flaring and almost all methane as well as conventional emissions coming from oil and gas production sites.
This grant, which happens to be awarded by the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management- FECM of the DoE, will happen to offer funds so as to scale the ECT from pilot to commercial scale and also roll out the equipment along with one or more oil producers for a field trial of six months.
It is well to be noted that Pioneer Energy has gone on to partner with the Colorado School of Mines so as to independently measure as well as validate the outcomes of emissions and flaring reductions and also to compare the results to the utilized technologies of the present. Apart from this, Pioneer also happens to be partnering with The Autism Community in Action- TACA as well as Easterseals of Colorado so as to help with the hiring of a workforce of skilled tradespeople as well as technicians that’s neurologically diverse as part of the Community Benefits Plan within the grant in support of the Justice40 Initiative.
