Golden Pass Products, LLC has awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) services contract for its proposed natural gas liquefaction and export project in Sabine Pass, TX to Chiyoda Corporation. Also participating in the development of the FEED services will be Chiyoda’s partner CB&I.
Chiyoda and CB&I also completed the pre-FEED and engineering work necessary to support Golden Pass’ formal application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on July 7.
As proposed, the export project would have a capacity of 15.6 mtpa of LNG, and the facility would be co-located at the site of the existing LNG import terminal owned and operated by Golden Pass LNG Terminal LLC, an affiliate of GPP. First LNG production is planned for 2019.
