PSA authorizes Dvalin start-up offshore mid-Norway

Wintershall Dea has approval from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to use new facilities for the subsea Dvalin field development in license 435 in the central Norwegian Sea.

Dvalin, in a water depth of 385 m (1,263 ft), was discovered in 210, 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of the Heidrun field complex. It comprises two structures 3.5 km (2.2 mi) apart, Dvalin East and Dvalin West.

Development involved installation of a subsea template with four gas production wells tied back to the Heidrun platform.

The PSA has also sanctioned Equinor’s plans to use the semisubmersible Transocean Norge for plugging, drilling and completion of wells on the Mikkel and Tyrihans fields in the same region, and exploration drilling of pilot well 6407/1-A-3 BH/CH.
