Energy Transfer, through subsidiary ET Rover Pipeline LLC, conducted an open season which ran through July 25 to solicit additional binding Precedent Agreements for firm transportation service on a new interstate natural gas pipeline system designed to provide access for rapidly growing Marcellus and Utica shale natural gas production to growing markets.
ET Rover is designed as a seamless pipeline solution for producers needing diverse market outlets and end users seeking abundant, stable supply.
The Rover Pipeline Project will enable the flow of natural gas from processing plants and interconnections in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio to point of interconnection with Energy Transfer’s existing Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line and other Midwest pipeline interconnects near Defiance, OH.
Additionally, the Rover Pipeline Project expects to construct a segment from the Defiance area through Michigan and ultimately to the Union Gas Hub, near Sarnia, Canada, providing producers with access to diverse markets and end-users in Michigan and Canada with access to Marcellus and Utica supplies.
The Rover Pipeline Project as proposed will consist of 380 miles of 36-inch and 42-inch mainline pipeline, installation of 194,000 horsepower at five new mainline compressor stations, and construction of six meter stations along the mainline pipeline, and construction of 197 miles of 24, 36 and 42-inch supply laterals, 38,000 horsepower at five new compressor stations, and various new meter stations in the supply areas.
