Petrofac Training achieves gold standard for safety

AI Summary

Petrofac Training Services (PTS) has won gold at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards – in its first year of entering.

PTS, based in Altens, Aberdeen, has achieved Gold level safety recognition in the Oil & Gas Industry category against 19 mandatory health and safety key measures, including continuous improvement, leadership and workforce involvement. The global award for the prestigious annual scheme recognises the recent achievement of a 70% reduction in accidents in the last two years and the maintenance of a Lost Time Incident (LTI) free period for three years.

The aim of RoSPA is to save lives, reduce injuries at work and encourage organisations to develop robust health and safety management systems.  Since they began in 1956, RoSPA’s awards have recognised commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work.  The scheme is open to businesses and organisations across the UK and overseas.

Ian Rush, QHSSE Manager said: “This achievement has exceeded all of our expectations.  This is a vote of confidence that we are successfully demonstrating our commitment to health and safety and continuous improvement as a global business.”

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Petrofac Training Services, contribute to collectively raising the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations.”
