Mozambique Rovuma Venture Awards Deal to Technip, Partners

Technip Energies, along with JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries, which are its partners, has gone ahead and secured a contract from Mozambique Rovuma Venture – MRV related to the Coral Norte floating liquefied natural gas – FLNG project.

The project is located offshore Mozambique and goes on to represent the second FLNG installation in the country. It is designed to boast of a minimum capacity of 3.6 million tonnes per annum – mtpa.

Notably, Mozambique Rovuma Venture is a JV owned by Eni and ExxonMobil, as well as CNPC.

As far as Technip Energies is concerned, the latest contract happens to build on a previous award pertaining to preliminary work and also confirms consistent progress when it comes to involvement in the project by the company.

The Coral Norte FLNG project takes the path of the replica concept, through making use of the experience that it has gained from the Coral Sul FLNG facility, which started its operations four years back in 2022.

It is worth noting that both projects draw from the same gas compositions as well as field locations. The hull launch when it came to Coral Norte took place on 16 January 2026 in South Korea’s Geoje.

The idea is to duplicate and also complement the role of Coral Sul by converting gas from the offshore deposits of Mozambique into LNG for worldwide export.

Coral Norte looks forward to building on proven design methodologies by way of incorporating operational lessons from the past so as to enhance the efficiency along with dependability.

Mozambique anticipates the operationalization of Coral Norte to go ahead and support its standing of being an energy producer and enable supply to the global energy markets by way of LNG exports.

Loïc Chapuis, Technip Energies project delivery and services president, said that “Coral Norte is a clear recognition of Technip Energies’ engineering and project delivery expertise and our ability to replicate proven solutions with discipline and certainty. Building on the success of Coral Sul, and together with JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries, this award further strengthens our long-standing partnership with Eni and their Area 4 partners.”

He further added that “It also underscores our leadership in delivering innovative and complex LNG solutions to support long-term energy supply and security in Mozambique and globally.”

Apparently, it was in August 2025 that Technip Energies went on to secure a contract related to engineering, procurement, and construction in order to develop a 9.5 mtpa facility of Commonwealth LNG at Cameron Parish, in the state of Louisiana, US.
